Meet Matt Williams
Food has always been at the heart of Matt Williams' career. With decades of experience in restaurants, catering, and culinary consulting, Matt founded Gourmet Garage with one goal in mind—to create memorable dining experiences while supporting the local food community.
Whether he's catering an elegant wedding, helping launch a new food business through the commissary kitchen, or consulting with restaurants, Matt brings the same passion, creativity, and attention to detail to every project.
A Lifetime in the Culinary Arts
Matt began his culinary career while attending UC Berkeley, where he worked at the renowned Chez Panisse, widely recognized as the birthplace of California cuisine.
He later owned Sacramento favorite Café Zorro before turning his focus to catering, culinary consulting, and eventually founding Gourmet Garage, a business built around exceptional food, outstanding service, and supporting fellow culinary professionals.

Volunteer & Nonprofit Work
Giving back has always been an important part of Gourmet Garage. Matt is actively involved in the Loomis Lions Club, supports local chambers of commerce, coaches the Del Oro High School Alpine Race Team, serves as Vice President of the Loomis Basin Education Foundation (LBEF), and proudly supports numerous nonprofit organizations throughout the region.
